Welcome to Our Altered Books!

The seventh grade Communications group altered some books.
The books were on their way to the dump, but live again, as ART.

We held a show in the HMS Library during the week of April 25th.
If you missed it, or just want to relive it, please check out this blog (orchestrated by Zoe Siegel with photos by Conor Wolff)

PLEASE NOTE: The show is featured on TWO posts. Please visit them both. That is, when you get to the end of the post, please also continue to OLDER POSTS or you will miss some art.
Ms. Agell's 'The Nature of Music' altered book -

“The very nature of music.” That’s a direct quote from the book I altered. It put me in mind of both nature and music, and how I often think that birds on telephone lines look like notes on a staph.

G.W. Ruth and Wes Pratt's 'Ski Away!' altered book -
A good book is just like a ski race: exciting, speedy,  and you never want to stop.

A good book is like a ski race: exhilarating, scary, and slightly dangerous.
Parker Harnett's 'A Library' altered book -

There is a place where nothing is ever as it seems. Jump in and you will find yourself lost in a world like no other. - a book is like a library, with a new idea around every corner.
Zoe Siegel's 'Dive Right in!' altered book -

You can dive into a book like you dive headfirst into a pool! What kind of time will you have?
Michael's Amazing 'Boat in Waves' altered book:

Books take you on adventures, and you never know where you will end up.
Conor Wolff's 'The Secret Garden' altered book -
A book is like a garden.
Erik Borda's 'Monster Book of Monsters' altered book -
A book doesn’t have to follow the rules. It can express angrily and wildly like a monster.
Lee Federle's 'What Do You Treasure?' altered book -

Every book-lover treasures books. This book has been turned into a collection of blackout poetry with words that mean something to me. What do you treasure?
